On a similar note is also like how so many interrogations of Path to Nowhere don't end with a neat bow and everyone happy forever (although when it happens that's great, like Deren my beautiful wife or Ninety-Nine whom I share custody of Hella with) but instead being the first step towards recovery or a small continuation of character development that we don't see, like Wendy or Clementine's.
It's genuinely so much more realistic in a game which deals with topics of recovery and healing, especially of the mind
I'm not sure if we can consider the Legion to be just a gang. Zoya spouses political change for the benefit of Syndicate and its stabilization and union instead of the convenience of Eastside. She's more like a revolutionary leader rather than an Al Capone-like figure.
I personally think of the Legion as precisely a revolutionary group like how Rustfire is a grassroots organization, and Zoya has the influence and admiration like many real-world revolutionaries.
The moment the Legion becomes such a player on the board that they can sit on a negotiation table (regardless of how it actually turned out), they can't just be a gang
Honestly even if the heel-turning we see with Sinners keeps getting old and predictable, it can still hit right if the motive is valid, or if it feels meaningful even when it starts to get obvious.
For example, I did Garofano's interrogation as soon as I got her, and found out her true colors through there, but the motive makes sense within her character and even if it's sudden, it leaves open a lot of questions, because it's not a black-and-white deceit.
Adela as well. I already talked about how great her writing in her event is but the heel-turn, albeit predictable because they weren't really trying to hide it, her motives and reasoning are legitimate and understandable, even if they have negative consequences, which the game shows in the credits of her event!
Shin is, well, a bit more difficult to work with especially because the second I found out she was behind everything I literally felt myself lock in in real time, but, imo, I don't think she was lying about caring about Little Guide Chief, and I've made my point on how she was used by It as much as anyone else.
Clementine is also really good because of how much you empathize with her. Her case is legitimate and it's difficult to argue with her emotions regarding the Redwood Fire. She's very richly written, and one of those characters you desperately want to stop because you care about them.
However cases like Stargazer's on her event just felt really weak. That whole event was underwhelming compared to what came after.
There's also Deren's "heel-turn" during the Beyond the DisCars event which if I remember correctly was trying to help OwO indirectly. Honestly Deren's characterization was better in her interrogation but she is one of my mains so I may just be biased.
Augustus going out again 🌊

Daily Random PTN: Day 380- I took a screenshot of every birthday that happened so far and decided to post them part 2
here's part 2 like I promise.
I actually had a pretty good birthday yesterday. I had a lot of fun.
anywho, anyone here you share a bday with?
Iron is one of my favorite Sinners for numerous reasons but the non-blorbo ones are her sheer commitment to her ideals and hopes. She refuses the chance to get into a cushy Eastside job, travels to Syndicate to establish a medical center on what's basically hell on earth, manages to suppress a Mania flareup by sheer willpower and CHOPS OFF her own arm without hesitation, to help Anne and her patient.
She still helps the gangs, even the ones that literally attacked SALVA, gained the respect of the Legion to the point of being personally invited by Zoya (which is a big deal mind you) and even after declining, it's heavily implied that the Legion is helping minimize the attacks in SALVA.
The woman has more backbone than every single one of her former classmates combined.
