“Why did you do it?” It’s a question he’s waited to ask - after getting out of the ice, everything was complicated, busy, and breaks were infrequent. Not to mention the fact that they didn’t even encounter each other for a while after he was found. This is probably only the second time they’ve been able to have a conversation, one that didn’t involve tactics or a battle or an enemy nearby. “You saw what I did and still thought that was the best idea?”

"Maybe. Most magic acts I've seen involve tech...or at least their attempt at tech." Some of the showcases during the Stark Expo may as well have doubled as a magic act more than once.

Bex. Ten thousand percent Bex. All of Sarah's cooking skills are inherited from the Rogers side. As Bex should not really be trusted to make toast. She's just...she's a disaster in the kitchen. An absolute disaster.

"I know...but still...” Taking a deep breath, Sarah quieted for a moment so Annalee could listen to her heart. She knew from both her mother’s experiences (and her own) that there would always be assholes in the world. Men who thought they were superior just because.

It was frustrating. And the urge to slam her father’s shield into their face was very real but...Annalee was right. There was no use. Nothing was ever going to change their mind. Better to just ignore them.

Like she wished she could ignore the episode that sent her to Annalee’s office. A collapse in the training center after she had pushed herself too hard. Needless to say her family (and EJ) had been massively concerned. Insisted she go on bedrest until Annalee cleared her.

Hopefully this appointment meant she’d be back in training by dinner.

The pout that comes across Talia’s face is instant; it was clear the future Avenger hated being called out. Especially when it came to the flimsy excuses she often gave authority figures. 

“Right, then how about we just end this session now and each of us can get an hour of our lives back? Because honestly? I don’t even know why I’m here. Aren’t we supposed to run towards danger? Isn’t that the whole point of being a hero? I mean, my dad does stupid shit all the time...no one’s making HIM see a shrink...”

Looking over at her companion, the young sorceress frowned. “It wasn’t supposed to be like this...” She had only meant to open a small door, to traverse the demon dimension in order to find the Gem of Amara. She had never meant to rain literal hell down upon New York.

Her parents (and Wong) were going to kill her.

Amelia sighed heavily. “Rogers, now calm down,” she ordered him. “We need to think about this. Chargng off while you’re angry and too emotionally compromised to think rationally is only going to get you hurt. Do you really think that’s what your brother would want?”
