January 17 2017 - [⚠️: murder, brutality] ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The #Asheville Police Department us now classifying the suspicious death of 54-year-old #PatriciaPatterson as a homicide. Patterson's body was found in a car Sunday afternoon in Asheville, with wounds from #bluntforcetrauma. Investigators said Sunday her body had been there for a day or two. "Two detectives approached us and said, we're sorry to have to tell you the news this way, but we found your mom, murdered in the back of her car," said Nikki Patterson, the daughter of the victim. Nikki Patterson says her #mother was not someone to put herself in harm's way. Nikki and a friend decided to go door-to-door asking if anyone had any information about her #mother's death. "She didn't talk to people she didn't know. She didn't do anything that would get her in trouble," she said. "It's very bizarre." Police got a call around 5 p.m. Sunday about a vehicle in Eagles Nest Lane, a cul-de-sac. Investigators said Sunday they had no suspects, and did not believe there is any danger to the public. They are asking that anyone who had seen Patterson recently, or observed any suspicious activity in the area of #EaglesNestLane, to contact them.
