Men's Ice Hockey Announces 2019-20 Home Schedule and Captains

BOSTON - The Boston University men's ice hockey team and Agganis Arena have unveiled the Terriers' home schedule for the 2019-20 season. Head coach Albie O'Connell has also announced the captains for next year as rising senior Patrick Curry will serve as captain while classmate Patrick Harper and rising juniors Logan Cockerill and Cam Crotty will be the team's assistant captains.

The 18 home dates in 2019-20 will feature five non-conference games and 12 Hockey East contests in addition to an exhibition game that will take place at Walter Brown Arena.

BU's home opener will take place on Family & Friends Weekend as Northern Michigan comes to town for a pair of games on Oct. 18 & 19. This will mark the Wildcats' first visit to BU since 1988.

The Terriers will host Sacred Heart on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 26) while the other two non-conference home games will be against Harvard (Dec. 3) and Brown (Jan. 8)

A new cycle of the Hockey East unbalanced schedule begins this season and the Terriers will be facing New Hampshire, Northeastern, UMass Lowell and Vermont three times each.

The break between theism and secular rational modernism is a relative not a radical one. Truth replaces God, scientific reason replaces revelation, scientific authorities replace theologians and the nature of heresy charges, but crucial aspects of the fundamental logic do not. The origin goal is still singular and universal; there is still a royal road leading from and to it; and the enemy for both programs remains, strikingly, "superstition". That is, in this context, unlicensed (that is, wild) enchantment. It follows again that, as against enchantment, both religious and secular universalist programs are different versions of the same road, with its two branches. They constitute, in effect, "two vying monisms", and the noisy, tediously predictable "debate" between the so-called "new atheists" and religious fundamentalists is largely a turf war for control over "knowledge, rule, order".

That said, there remains an important difference in principle between theism and secularism. It results from the apophatic nature of God as an ultimately unfathomable spiritual mystery, which denies the final promise of analysis and control that material reality, ultimately limited even if very complex, seems to hold out to science. Theism thus denies what scientism embraces: the prospect of ultimate mastery, and with it complete disenchantment.

Curry played so well last game, I love his intensity. I like seeing pics like this where you can see his stick because he gave me one of his at the Michigan game (the same kind he's using in this pic) and it is the best thing I've ever used. It's a custom $300 stick but the curve and flex are amazing.
