Okay, I'm shamelessly hyping up my own creation here, but bear with me. Kat Halstead and I have been hurling our unique brand of chaos into the podcasting abyss for over a decade now. Now, let me take you back to a magical December night in 2017, where we dived headfirst into the glorious madness of A Christmas Melody - the Hallmark masterpiece that was both absurdly unnecessary and strangely essential.
In the event you are unaware of what this 'film' is, it's the modern day Hallmark Channel classic starring Lacey Chabert, Brennan Elliott, and the diva herself, MARIAH CAREY, who is also making her directorial debut. Yes, Mariah Carey... in a director's chair! Giving directions! Can you believe it? If you have trouble believing that, at least open your minds to the magic of the Christmas season, because that happens a lot in this hour and a half of made-for-television saccharine goodness.
Now, it's like six years later and I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one. Lacey Chabert comes back to her wintery hometown after failing at life in Los Angeles, and finds herself in a friendly competition with a former high school rival (Mariah Carey). I also highly suspected that Mariah filmed all her scenes separately because she never actually appears in the same frame as any of her costars.
