Their debut LP has two or three singles with a lot of under-appreciated tracks, but this is the record that got their music played in malls and on HBO tv shows. Lots of talent in this band in any incarnation, most residing with their reluctant captain/vocalist Patrick. When it comes to individual tracks, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Still... every song fits well together and this record should be listened to all the way through, if at least once. Also featuring members of Hold Steady, Vivian Girls, and Spider Bags. Note: I’m not normally a “completist” when it comes to records, but I have almost every +@ vinyl release. NJ pride.
