I came across a photo of a young Joanna Lumley who appeared in “The Satanic Rites of Dracula” (1973) with Christopher Lee. It made me wonder what would have happened if Dracula tried to drink Patsy’s blood. I think only one of them would walk away unscathed and it wouldn’t be Dracula.

Patsy's Dinner
AB FAB THE MOVIE I generally avoid movies about alcoholics and drug addicts but I made an exception for Patsy and Edina. A matinee with only about 10 people might not have been the best audience to see "Ab Fab". A crowded evening performance would have generated more laughs. Of the two stars Joanna Lumley's Patsy was consistently funny; she can make you laugh with just an expression. Jennifer Saunder's Edina is a different story. She tends to be a "sad sack" and in a crowded theater it be funny but in a nearly empty theater she was just sad. Barry Humphries (aka Dame Edna) has a pretty funny bit as an aging former lover of Patsy's. Also I haven't seen the show in such a long time I didn't remember lots of the supporting characters. For instance, Edina had an odd personal assistant that I didn't find funny at all but I'm guessing she was in the original show. The plot centers around Edina being accused of murdering Kate Moss. Is Moss still a relevant fashion icon? There are also cameo by various aging fashionistas but frankly I didn't recognize or know most of them. I'd only recommend the movie if you were a fan of the series... and even then be sure to have a few cocktails before entering the theater.
Just been to see Absolutely Fabulous and found out that Patsy and Edina had gone to see it too. They were fabulous enough to let me snap couple of pics.
I miss Friday night with Chrissy.
