Pattern Updates

I've been working a bit on pattern updates. My patterns tend to be 1 page for a title, 1 page for instructions, 1-3 pages of pattern pieces, and 7-15+ pages of instructions. A 20+ page booklet is far too large for print. It's expensive to print that many sheets, heavy to ship, and in some cases it's too thick to fit in a standard rigid mailer. In addition, my patterns had varying formats as I learned more about using InDesign. My new pattern layout uses a grid system to organize 4 steps per page rather than 1 or 2 steps taking up the entire page. The writing is more concise and to the point. Patterns which previously lacked photo/illustration instructions (namely my dino and loch ness) are getting illustrations. Some older patterns may also be getting a facelift with new photography. This isn't something that is happening overnight, but I wanted to let everyone know it was going on. The end result will be that I can offer printed patterns and kits much more reasonably, And for those who want to print their patterns at home rather than following along on the computer screen, it will be much less paper and ink required to do so. In addition, I have my pudgy giraffe pattern in the works right now. So expect to see that some time this month, depending on how fast I work. (Which is rather slowly at the moment)
