Patton's 2018 at a glance
So it is officially January 1st, 2019! It already feels weird typing that! As the new year begins, I wanted to look back on my 2018. What made it good, what made it bad, the people who entered my life, and the people who left!
People who left my life
Not a lot of people decided to remove themselves from my life last year. Some I do wish had stayed, and some I'm more than glad they're gone. I'm happy to say I cut all toxic people out of my life! I didn't need people, like my ex, who would refuse to use my correct name or pronouns around me. I was in a group chat at the end of 2017 to early 2018, and I am a little sad that I don't speak to them anymore, but I've met so many more people last year that have really made me look forward to many more memories with them.
People who entered my life
As I said above, I've met heaps of people last year that have changed my life for the better. And I think now is a better time than ever to talk about them. (I'm only gonna name a few, don't worry!)
@logan-exe - like most of the people I'll mention, I met Logan in a fanders discord server! I honestly thought he was just roleplaying at first, and he came off to be kind of intimidating. But after a while I got to know him, and eventually he 'adopted' me. I have never been happier to call him my Dad. He inspires me every day to be a better person than I was the day before. He is the best role model and father figure I've ever had.
@michael-of-astora - firstly I'd like to say, you're a Thot. Now, I also met Michael in a fanders discord server, and oh boy. Like Logan you were quite intimidating, not as much as him, as you were more laid-back than he was, but still a little scary. The first actual one on one conversation we had was when the server was really busy, and we moved to direct messaging as it was a lot more quieter. I think we met at around June-July ish, and I'm pretty sure we've spoken to each other at least once everyday since then. We've had some ups and downs, but I can confidently say you're one of my best friends, and it's weird to imagine how my life was before we met.
I also met a lot of people irl! Toward the end of the year I met some amazing exchange students, who were the nicest people ever! They were from so many different countries, and would teach us more about their culture!
What made 2018 good?
All my amazing friends! Ok that's the last time I mention them, I swear! I learnt to accept how my emotions work, and that my mental health will have its bad days. I took some great classes and met some great people through them! I also figured out what my gender was, the pronouns that felt right for me, and the name that fit me the best! I watched a lot of awesome movies and TV shows, listened to amazing music by just as equally amazing LGBTQ+ artists, and found some really cool and interesting YouTube channels! Also the new tomb raider game and movie came out and in my opinion those were the best things of 2018.
What made 2018 bad?
A lot of people had trouble understanding and accepting my new name and pronouns, some of which even choosing to leave my life because of it. I also lost a family member toward the end of the year, and my mental health began to rapidly decline. I slowly began losing my passion for music, and toward the end of my school year my grades began to drop.
What's in store for 2019?
My 2018 was definitely a mix of both good and bad. For every bad thing that happened, a good thing came along behind it! I hope to start a bullet journal to keep track of this busy year. I plan on finally graduating school and moving into university so I can become a kindergarten teacher. I wish to create many more special effects looks, and advance my skills on it. I want to write more things, whether it's a fanfiction or just an original story!
I wish to make 2019 my year. A year of balance, growth, and positivity!
