And Acadia has been enjoying having the house full so often. "Does it taste better this time?"

"I didn't think that would be possible, but yes! How do you do it? Girl!"

"And who did you say this nectar is from?" Patricia is on her third glass.

"VonNath Wines (@coceauxsims universe). That one is really hard to get. I had to have my assistant go to an AU to grab a bottle at a pop-up. But so worth it."

"Definitely worth it! Grab a case next time. Please. I'll need it to keep dealing with this headache of a wedding."

"Yo, just elope, my guy." Walker still has nightmares about conversations about flowers.

But Uche was hoping to hear that the stress is worth it. "What? Wasn't it the happiest day of your life?"

"It was the happiest day of my wife's life. So it was worth it. But Trish isn't the type to be dreaming of one day like that. We're surprised she's planning one."

"Honestly, she's doing it for me, bro. At this point she knows more about a 'proper Obianagha wedding' than I do."

Since their double date, Patricia had been jealous of Desiree. At first, it was simply a desire to know Uche more than any other sim. But she became curious about Desiree instead of her fiancé and did a Lund deep dive into Desiree Lavantille/Desiree Delgato/(Desiree Steward?!)'s past. What she saw was a sim who did not care about the expectations of other sims and it infuriated her. She wanted to 'take her down a notch' at the Winterfest party and started gushing about working with the perfect pair, Dr. Jesse and 'his more elegant and competent work wife,' Dr. Rena. "But they'll be fine, right? I mean everyone knows Jesse adores her. I really didn't know he had that history with Dr. Rena. How was I supposed to know?"

"Even if they didn't, Patricia." Uche sighed. "What is this really about? Hmm? You're more argumentative than usual. Cancelling and rehiring everything. This is not you. Is it work?"

"No."

"Is it the wedding? Your mum?"

"I don't know, Uche."

"We can elope."

Patricia sighed. "No, we can't, Uche. Your mum is already crying and acting like someone died because we said we won't have children... If we elope, I'll be the worst daughter-in-law on the planet. And I'm not the worst anything."

Annabella Lund was impressed by her daughter’s words. "That interpretation is quite insightful."

"Right? I cannot look at any of this artist's work the same since Uche described it that way."

Anabelle furrowed her brow. "Hmmm. It's insightful but I cannot say that I agree." She turned and walked away.

Patricia followed, biting her lip as she watched her mother walk toward the one display on this floor from Windenburg.

"The epitome of elegance. I am certain her wedding would have been perfection."

"The pirate lover?" Sure, mother. Frolicking on a wooden ship with drunkards would have been perfect. Patricia rolled her eyes. Her mother keeps hinting that Patricia and Uche's plans for their wedding are not what she expected. But once her family tried to marry her off to a Straud, she stopped caring about what they thought she deserved. Forgotten Hollow? With the family that runs from the sun? The audacity.

"A pirate would have made sure she had a treasure on her finger, my dear."

A ring was not a priority to Patricia and her engagement to Uche was everything she wanted it to be. Yes, they have a few arguments about minor things here and there but she enjoys the banter. He speaks his mind, she speaks hers and then he dramatically gives in. His generosity makes her feel wanted. And even in her most abrasive state, the fact that she asks him for his opinion at all makes him feel appreciated.

"All I'm asking, my dear, is that you make your wedding a smidge less... colourful. The Obianaghas are a well respected family in Windenburg, I am sure they will agree to something more timeless."

Some of these traditions are older than Windenburg, mother. You cannot get more timeless than that - is what Patricia wanted to say. "Mom, did I tell you that I single-handedly closed the deal between the Bielke-Lund group and the Magnolias? We're rebuilding Magnolia Promenade next summer once Cuidad Enamorada is complete."

"That's great, my dear. Now about the live music. While the flowers at Walker and Acadia's wedding were quite tacky, the band they chose was fantastic. I should ask Nayeli for their information. I'll text her right away."

Rebecca Lund flew to Windenburg from Selvadorada to spend the rest of the sim-year with her family and get started on her maid of honour duties. She was surprised that her older sister, Patricia, was giving in to the demands of their mother. "So you're not doing the Igba Nkwụ ceremony?"

"It would be easier to have one ceremony in San Myshuno."

"Trish. Forget the sim that still acts like she's too proper for Selvadorada. If you want to carry palm wine, do it! It's dad's blessing you'd need at the ceremony anyway, no?"

"Yes. But- "

"But nothing! If you feel like it's not your culture then we can do like a Rumbasim entrance or something. But you sent me a whole essay about palm wine and isi agu. Nolan, how many voice notes did she drop in the chat ranting about how hard it is to find coral beads?"

Her older brother replied, "Too many. I still have our chat on mute."

"Don't blame you. So we're doing this, Patricia. You can have Eloísa's, I mean Annabelle's black and white party in San Myshuno, if you want it so badly."

"Just don't forget I need a plus one for both events."

Patricia was relieved to have the support of her siblings. "Thank you," she whispered to her sister. "Okay, can I show you guys the tiara I chose since I can't find a designer that works with coral beads?"

"Don't care, sis." Nolan walked over to comfort his sulking mother.

"And this is the gele that would match Uche's second suit. But I cancelled the order."

"I love it. Reorder it, now."
