Just when Paula was about to prepare lunch, Bob showed up on her doorstep again. He apologized for his behaviour in the bookstore the day before, Eliza and him had been fighting once again and he had just had a really bad day because of it. Paula couldn't help but feel sorry for him and suggested to have lunch together in that new café in Magnolia Promenade.

Once arrived, they first sat in awkward silence for some time, but soon found something to chat about again and ended up talking and laughing together for hours. Although they never actually got to see the main course they ordered, they both agreed they really liked the place and wanted to come back at some point.

When Paula returned home, she felt reassured Bob was actually a very nice guy and good friend and there was really no reason to be concerned about his behaviour the days before.

Also Paula is in her bathrobe because Bob unexpectedly knocked at her door at like half past ten in the evening. Maybe Eliza and him had a fight and she kicked him out? Anyway, the two of them just sat there talking and joking around for about two hours until Paula was getting too tired, but she told him he could sleep on the couch if he felt it wasn't "safe" to return home yet.

First snow of the season in Willow Creek! Paula decided to go outside and enjoy the weather, but still couldn't quite tear herself away from the book she was reading...

Paula spent most of Harvest Fest writing. Some of the books she'd read recently and especially her conversation with Amy the day before had inspired her to work on a little short story herself. She doubted it would turn out any good, but she really enjoyed trying to make it come together. It had been years since she'd written that much and had that much fun with it.

In the evening Bob knocked at her door again. She wasn't even surprised, although she found it kind of awkward that he'd even spend a holiday like this rather with her than at home with his wife. Although they were just friends, she was worried that in a neighbourhood like Courtyard Lane, people would eventually start gossiping about them anyways.

While Paula was preparing dinner, Bob decided to not be of any help whatsoever and just kept standing in the way and staring at the wall. Later, it seemed like a good idea to both of them to eat directly in the kitchen instead of sitting down. Despite all this weirdness, they still had a rather nice Harvest Fest evening together.

The next day, Paula really felt like visiting her neighbour Amy as she'd been very much enjoying hanging out with and talking to her recently. With a plate full of homemade brownies, she headed over to their house.

Amy was very happy to see her and to introduce her to her wife Nancy and her son Florian. She talked a little bit about her recent projects as a freelance author and Paula, as usual, listened with great interest. She really admired Amy for the work she was doing and caught herself wondering if this was maybe something she'd also like to pursue at some point of her life.

Both Nancy and Florian seemed to like her as well, and she really enjoyed chatting with them. They spent the afternoon talking about all kinds of things and eating the brownies, and when Paula left in the evening, she felt that, apart from Bob, Amy was definitely the closest to a friend she had found in Willow Creek so far.
