Revolte, Paul Robinson
One of a series of six paintings that formed a solo show in June 2017 in Limoges, France at the 'Chapelle de la Visitation'. Inspired by the Romantic period, this painting in particular was inspired by the painting of Girodet-Trioson ‘La Révolte du Caire’ my version attempts to pose questions on today's society and its responses to the world and others around them. Une révolte contre un agresseur ou un oppresseur peut être interprétée comme une victoire pour la justice et l'égalité tout aussi bien qu'elle peut être considérée comme un acte d'agression en elle-même. Cela dépend du point de vue et de ses propres croyances. Y a-t-il un sentiment de renaissance du chaos, un sens primordial de la bonne volonté, ou tourne-t-ou la tête?
