WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT. Thousands of brutally abused dogs in Romania have been rescued by British charity Paws2Rescue. Volunteers described the horror of seeing animals left to die.
As so many precious dogs travelled across Europe last night, preparing to meet us in the UK this morning, we thank our rescuers for helping us to save their lives.
On this van are dogs and pups from public shelters Buftea, Odai, Bragadiru, Baia Mare and hell shelter Balotesti.
Seeing these dogs coming to their happy ever afters, where they will all become part of a real family, makes us all smile tonight.
During 2015, we achieved all the aims of our specific projects, ongoing rescue support, monthly visits to Romania, emergency responses, UK pet shows and orphanage and Christmas appeals and visits. We are proud of these achievements and also in taking many dogs out of public shelters, and saving and changing dogs’ lives. We have worked with, and shall continue to work with our three partner Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and thirty individual rescuers.
This fundraiser is to raise funds for our first three projects in 2016:
1. Running Water
Our first project in 2016 is to provide running water to the shelter of our NGO partner, Adapostul de caini din Baia Mare. Baia Mare shelter has no running water. The generator is covered up because, if it gets cold, it freezes and the dogs have to eat snow. The volunteer sometimes walks for water up to 20 times daily. Even on days when they can pump some water, they only get eight litres per pen which is not enough. The water is changed every two days and, if it rains, the water gets dirty. The water pipe is under the road which is at least 50m from the shelter. The workers will need to dig this far to put pipes in. They cannot clean the cages properly without running water. Life is impossible.
In Spring 2016 we shall provide water to help these dogs.
2. Electricity Supply
Our second project in 2016 is to provide electricity to the shelter of our NGO partner, Asociatia Pentru Protectia Animalelor Kola Kariola. In 2015, we worked to help them build the shelter, a paradise for over 450 dogs, and we shall help them supply electricity to the shelter, improving lives.
3. Neuter Campaign Our third project in 2016 will be Paws2Neuter. In 2015 we carried out neuter campaigns across Romania. Neutering is the only solution to the massive stray dog problem and we aim to neuter at least another 1,000 dogs in our April neuter campaigns. Please help us raise funds so that we can Paws2Neuter Romania in 2016 with specific targeted campaigns.
Who Are We?

https://www.facebook.com/Paws2Rescue/
We are a rescue group that helps Romanian dogs have a better life, by helping a lucky few to find loving homes in the UK or across Europe. We also assist by sending desperately needed food, beds and treats over to Romania to the shelters we help, and also to individual foster rescuers. We raise money for campaigns such as helping build Rainbow Shelter. Please look in our Facebook albums or here on our website to see our dogs who need loving forever homes.
