So I watched the video where they explain the lukasiaks vacation and it raised the question of did the hyland-ackerman feud predate dance moms? They seemed to throw a lot of shade at kelly specifically.

when the ackermans first came on the team in s2, both kelly and christi were pretty staunchly anti-leslie, but I don’t know if they said there was anything specific. 

I think maybe the reason there was so much animosity towards the hylands was because payton, especially in s3, was often brought in to “replace” brooke/paige, but then the hylands would come back and payton would get removed again. and leslie always felt it wasn’t fair because she was more “loyal” to the team than kelly, who came and left and came and left. plus there was that infamous moment in s2 when abby made it seem like payton was on top of the pyramid but then revealed that it was brooke, even though brooke had been at cheer auditions the week prior.

did you watch payton’s new video? i feel really bad for her hearing her side of the story

I did! it’s interesting that she gave a different timeline of how the show came to be, because I thought that the other moms discussed how christi reached out to the producers first, but payton said that the producers found them??

but as for payton’s actual experiences, I do feel bad for her. I never really had much time for leslie, but I didn’t have much of a problem with payton. I also always knew that she meant she danced better than the competing groups, not that she danced better than the aldc dancers, and that abby deliberately misinterpreted her comment. it saddens me that people sent her death threats over something as stupid as a reality tv show. but she looks like she’s doing well and she’s happy, and I hope she continues to thrive in la.
