Wow wow wow. All I can say is I'm excited for the next year of poetry in Nairobi after this meet up/discussion/gathering of sisters seeking space. Not everyone who came is pictured, but I am so grateful to everyone who came out today and spoke the truth of their experiences, no matter how personal we thought they were or how isolated we felt in our experiences. Shoutout to @pawa254 for hosting #PazaSauti: Women of the Word today and this year, especially Wendy and Bernard. Shoutout to @jaaziyah and @kenyanshilling for cofacilitating the space. And shoutout to every person who can today and schemed for our larger community. We deserve space.
