Piggying off that Ellie dance ask, I was wondering the same thing! I see in the code that Ellie with a crush takes priority over Finlay asking us. It's still sweet to ask him first, but in my runs my MC naturally cheers Ellie up so she keeps developing a crush. This may be a sorta wild thing to ask for (totally ignorable too!) but is there any way to tweak that scene to where it chooses based on highest relationship status and flirting/established crushes rather than a priority list? I'm just dying for Finlay to ask PB 😅

I think for this particular suggestion I'm going to stick with my current approach - the order of operations I chose was intentional for the characters in that it doesn't just reflect how interested they are in dancing with the Pactbinder (since they're all potentially interested at that point!), but how bold they would be with the offer to dance.

So here the mental image I had was that a high relationship Finn was kinda shuffling awkwardly, mustering the courage to ask the MC out, only for someone romantically bolder to outspeed him if they were either crushing (Ellie) or already had positive flirt signals from the PB (Marcus, Layla)...

Ngl I used to mix up Finny and Jules. At least in the beginning. But that badass scene in Life Class? Kinda hot. Definitely into the prince now hehe.

I deeply love the fact that there appears to be two types of Finn fans - the ones who really love him because of how kind and open he is, and the ones who love him because of some of the hints in C3 that he might actually have the makings of a badass.

That aside, I feel like he's perfect for a slightly(?) crazy PB. Which they all are considering the Pact in itself, but you give plenty of options to make them unhinged. He kind of really grounds that type of PB, weighs them out if you will. At least he totally does for mine.

Though I'm biased. My mc really wants to send Fin into a gay panic. Or ten.

Speaking of which, ask: Can/will we get a possible RO POV? Maybe from the dance, or from the respective scenes where each RO develops a crush on MC. Or literally anything.

Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoy Finn. I love how different players gravitate to different RO vibes - from Finn and Ellie's more grounded kindness to Marcus being brooding and proactive to Adelais' reserved mystery. I have faith in Layla to climb up too, some day...

I really hope I can do the Finn queer branching justice when it finally comes time to address it - I've been really excited to tackle it for a while now.

RE: POVs: I am going back and forth on RO POVs and whether I should do them, and, if they do, whether I should do them in the game itself or outside of it. I sort of like how diegetic Pactbinder is, if that makes sense?

The fact that we never leave the Pactbinder's perspective, and the fact that their occasional visions remain in that perspective, so that they can acknowledge and react to them - I find that really neat. If I do include POVs in the game (and no promises on that front), I would like them to be in that same spirit. I know exactly how that would work if I did...

Is it just me or does Finlay really pay attention to the pactbinder? Granted mine ended up dancing with him as that somehow was the highest stat out of all the others. Like he notices us flinch when murder gets thrown around and just generally seems to keep tabs on us?

Good spot. I would say that different characters are pretty observant when it comes to different things (e.g. I think Marcus is very sharp at picking up on social cues when he hasn't gotten himself riled up), but Finlay is one of the most observant for sure.

oh and i have a scenario ask that you are free to answer (or not answer) at your leisure: what misfortune! due to a series of mysterious hypothetical events, the ros have no other choice but to share a bed with the pactbinder…oh no…whatever will they do….(pre-relationship but deep crushing for the Drama lol)

Haha, a couple of brief thoughts below:

Adelais. This is hard to answer; I don't think she'd sleep in the same room as someone she didn't already feel very close to (not necessarily romantically). If the situation somehow magically manifested though, she would be very Normal about the whole thing, as though this is something she did every day. Obviously it isn't, but you'd not know it to look at her.

Eleanor. Really shy about the whole thing for sure. Probably a big variation between whether MC presents as male, female or non-binary; if one of the latter two she probably tries and fails to pass it off as a chance at a friendly sleepover, no big deal. It will get awkward fast, though. If the former, the whole thing is probably extremely awkward from the start.

Finlay. This one is super tricky for me to work out too, actually. He's definitely pretty nervous and unsure, but I think that would be not just shyness, but awareness that he's setting himself up for complications just being in this situation given who and where he is. I think he would be pretty awkwardly aloof overall as a result, but also very honest about why this is the case if called out.

Layla and Marcus. This scenario wouldn't be 'pre-relationship' by the time the night is over. Make of that what you will.

Finlay and Marcus: Probably both laugh it off, honestly. Marcus would play along just for the joke. Finlay might mock-severely try to tell the baby off but he'd be way too mushy about the prospect of having a kid, so he'd not have the heart to put any vim into it.

Posting this purely to inform you all that I had to go on a whole web browsing quest to find out who this lady was and what was up with her weird looking cat. It took me like ten minutes to work it out...

Having successfully decoded this mystery, I am now able to thank you for the ask! I really love it when people let me know how they're feeling about the characters; I have a real soft spot for Finn too.
