How to Disable Windows Services To Speed Up Computer?

You can keep only necessary programs running on the startup folders, perform disk fragmentation in regular basis, and avoid installations of unnecessary programs. To more improve the computer performance, you should disable some unnecessary services running on the system at background. You can speed up computer performance by selecting the services you really needed and which ones not should disable. Your computer boots little slow due to delay the loading of certain services. In computer system there are various services enabled to run the system. But some of the services are not even for use and still containing the space and taking time to load.
A service is a program that supports to other programs at a low level. Some of the services which your computer may not needed. Let’s have a look:
1. Alerter
This service is useful for the programs that use administrative rights. If you don’t have user’s accounts then you will not need to use this service. By disabling this service Administrator will not receive alerts.
2. ClipBook Viewer
If you are not using remote computer then there is no use to using this service. This service shares information with remote computers. If the service is stopped, ClipBook Viewer will not be able to share information with remote computers.
3. Error Reporting Service
Sometimes applications get crashed and ask for sending reports to Microsoft. It reports unexpected application crashes to Microsoft. But generally nobody uses this feature. So its better to disable this service.
4. Fast User Switching Compatibility
If you are using User’s profiles or accounts it provides compatibility to switch between users easily and faster. If you don’t have user accounts then disable this service.
To disable services let’s see how to do it:
Click on the Start menu button, click on Run and type SERVICES.MSC in text box and click OK. A ‘Services’ window opens up listing all services that are currently running on machine. To disable service that you desire to disable, right click on it, select Properties from the Context Menu. Click on General tab, in ‘Startup type’ list box select ‘disable’ and click ‘OK’. After finishing all disabling, reboot the machine. Your disabled services will take effect from the next boot.
