Just wanted to give a big fuck you to user gobigobu for closing down her guild and making a lot of people hurt. Not only did people want to join and had for a long, long time, but the people from it probably feel abandoned and confused. You’ve got some sort of superiority complex about yourself that I do not understand. I hope you feel bad about what you’ve done to people on the site who actually care and don’t recycle their pets as if the work you put into them never mattered.
This is completely ridiculous. OP, I'm really sorry that you wanted to join Revo and didn't get the opportunity to do so, but this post makes it really obvious that you have no idea about the inner workings of the guild, and that you had unrealistic expectations to begin with. To the first point: Gobi didn't just decide to close down the guild. Revolution had a five-member council who all AGREED it was time to let go of the group. They posted a notice on the guild front page and every active member had a week to post their goodbyes and make plans for what they wanted to do after the guild was gone. As a member, trust me, the first thing any Revo'er said to me when I started chatting with them was "Have you seen the front page?" All the members knew. This decision was made because many key Revo members can't (or no longer want) to dedicate so much time to the guild and to Neo. The past few months have been very quiet in the guild, productivity was low, and the current format as of closing was a much reduced version of its previous glory. What made Revo great was the level of investment and participation at the level of the members and the council. But for the council, that meant spending hours keeping track of events, planning tasks, scoring submissions, organizing plot points, and updating guild literature. That's a ton of dedication for anyone, especially adults with jobs and school and, y'know, lives... especially for a site that has become less of a priority! Revo was not running at full capacity anymore, and it didn't make sense to drag out the end any longer. I was very, very sad to see my guild go - but I respect the council making that decision.
Now, on to those "unrealistic expectations" I mentioned. You talk about wanting to get into Revolution, but you seem to feel like the time you have put into your pets characters has been wasted because the guild closed. Really, it sounds like your priorities were out of order: you should have wanted to get into Revo because you developed your pets. Instead, it sounds like you developed your pets because you wanted to get into Revo. I'm sorry to tell you this, but even if you had gotten in to the guild, you probably would not have been satisfied if this is the case. Creative ventures aren't very satisfying when they're motivated solely by external means, and all getting into the guild would have done is shown you that you put all that work in for "nothing," so to speak. The creative work is the reward and that's what made Revolution so successful as a guild. It was a bunch of people who just really loved creating and developing their characters and stories.
I hope you feel bad about what you’ve done to people on the site who actually care and don’t recycle their pets as if the work you put into them never mattered.
What Gobi (And Cait, and Ruse, and Mary and Kin and ALL those members of Revo) did was provided an environment for creative people to flourish in. That's it. Closing down Revo does not end the characters that people developed, or the roleplaying partnerships they've made over the years. It simply acknowledged that the guild had come to its natural conclusion. It was invaluable in providing the motivation and growth that the members needed. That time wasn't wasted, it was very well spent.
... TL;DR: Do what you want, have fun, make your own damned guild. Wow in the time it took to write this, PC Blacklist took a leap and deleted almost all of its posts? The drama is juicy tonight. AND I posted to the wrong blog jeeguz.
Wow, love your new hair, Callie. You should stop making such ugly posts about neopets, it's not nice :(
Hello pcblacklist
Anything good happening at Northeastern University, Katharine? Quiet night?
What about you Callie? Anything interesting going on over in Oklahoma? I guess, other than posting and being a complete pain in the ass of course.
What about your other pals, what are they all up to? ;)

Regarding the blacklist thing: I don’t think you should fight fire with fire. The people who started the whole thing are not normal to begin with. I can’t imagine ANY of my friends in real life who would resort to making a hate site dedicated to members on a site like Neopets.com. Can you? No similar even exists for Leagues of Legends or Maplestory, I bet.
I really think these people are not normal. They take neopets too seriously, and I’m guessing they’re middle schoolers or high schoolers. You know, that awkward stage of life where people are still afraid to ask out their crushes and worry about their appearances. These are kids we’re dealing with; you have to find the right approach to punishing preteens. Sure, hack their neo-accounts or whatever you’re planning, but is that really effective? Will that get the point across that what they’re doing is wrong?
I sent in a message to them once. I don’t know if you know, but on the AC a long time ago, someone made a similar page offline. It was called AC Rants. People submitted horrible things about users on the Avatar Chat, some worse than the ones posted here. There were references to autism and use of vulgarity. Then, less than 48 hours, the mod shut down the page. He realized it had gone too far. I told them how they’ve reached the exact same level with their blacklist and that they should stop. But of course, they never did. They don’t realize they’ve hurt people, and that’s the message we should tell them. That it’s not nice. Far from nice.
I trust you to have good judgment, Andrew, but if you’re planning anything drastic, like harassing them or revealing their personal information, I don’t see how that’s any different from what they’re doing. Please remember that by making the blog in the first place, these are not likely people who have great social lives; they’re probably bullied in real life. I don’t want terrible repercussions to happen, I just want to see them understand there’s more to life than making a blacklist in the first place.
RESPONSE~~~~~~~~~~
I can definitely see where youre coming from, sometimes fighting fire with fire isn’t always the best approach, but sometimes it can be the most effective. I’m not really sure what I or others have planned right now. Right now I’m in the background, there are other people who are doing much more than I am doing to try and get back at this blog. I can’t control them. I do have a bit of info myself, that was figured out by the work of other people, but not sure what’s going to be done with it yet.
I will say that these are not preteens who are posting this stuff. These are people who are old enough to understand that their actions will have an effect on people. I am not going to accept that they are ignorant to the fact that what they say hurts people. Neopets is one thing, but bringing in personal info and other real life things is a completely different matter entirely. If they truly are sorry or feel any remorse for things they do, they should post an apology or something, but instead they aren’t doing anything at all, presumably hoping it all blows over.
I will be the first to admit that I’m not perfect, and some things I have done were questionable at best, but my motives were pretty clear and I never took anything off neopets. But their blog has been getting more and more out of hand, and it seems they finally pissed off enough people for their to be quite a backlash.
So in the end, I can’t say for sure what’s going to happen. If they continue to post things like they have in the past, I think it will only bring them more attention, the kind of attention they probably don’t want. I guess it’s ultimately up to them how things go.
