"I get asked about my diet all the time and one thing I get asked as a plant based eater is ‘how do you keep your iron levels up!?’ Well I have been vego since I was 11 years old and plant based for the last few years and have NEVER been iron deficient. Thankfully having a nutritionist mother helped to make sure I was getting a well rounded diet as a child, and then as I got older I got so passionate about health and nutrition I threw myself into my own studies and set out to learn everything I could about plant based nutrition. 🥬Eating vego from such a young age was meet with mixed feelings by ppl (and trust me it was not trendy or popular to eat that way years ago like it is now) so my biggest mission was to eat what I liked and show ppl that I was healthier for it, BUT also that I was never deficient in anything (as many ppl thought i would be). 🥦So when ppl ask me where do I get my iron from I have a whole list of sources I can tell them about, which usually stops them from asking anymore questions hahaha! 😅 Every nutrient you have ever needed can be sourced from plants (with the exception of b12 which we used to get from our soil and waterways but as we no longer eat and drink directly from the ground/ rivers it’s something that often needs to supplemented)" 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿 Image via @functional.foods #pcostowellness #plantbased #plantbasedpcos #eatyourveggies #vegansofinstagram🍃🌱🌿 #eatplantsthrowhands Reposted from @pcos_to_wellness (at Gaithersburg, Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8nAbx_JdsV/?igshid=177g4xk7z0kdk
