YTES yes yes YES yehs yEYSEYSYE YESYESY YES ALWAYS GOD YES . ok i . wow dont know if its obvious but i really really like lancelot . i think hes neat and i think people overshoot how much of a “marry sue” he really is like. i promise you. hes not. 

YES malory likes to overshoot his grandness, but thats.... one work. written by someone who very obviously does Not Like Gawain, and who very obviously misread all of Tristan and Isolde and thinks tristan is cool for the wrong reasons. and its not like Lancelot is even... that great. he genuinely sucks in every single piece of media hes in. there isnt a single time Lancelot does something truly heroic besides the first fucking quest (his mission to free the joyous gard uoewt8gh9pfwetibog he didnt veen have a name at that point and malory just stole that from the vulgate where lancelot is a much more nuanced character than he likes to give him credit for). 

Hes a shitty crybaby who says yes to everything and who doesnt get much. He likes listening to others talk and he loves his friends and family dearly. hes the equivalent of brain empty heart full..... he doesnt really. do much useful. sureh es good in a fight but its at the cost of him full on dissociating during combat. he doesnt understand the concept of death and his first experience with it fucked him over so bad he went nonverbal for months. he ... quite literally .... sucks big time . like hes just a fucking dude. hes just trying his darndest to love and be loved and he constantly puts his love in the wrong places because hes so afraid someone wont love him back hes afraid to loose a pain he CALLS love. 

also he has a boyfriend like. in the texts. and every adaption besides spamalot just forgets about this. guys i promise u the french texts are actually good and have lancelot as a nuanced character and not just the savior . he sucks. hes the reason everyone he loves dies. hes bad. hes a sinful man but he TRIES. and he loves. and i think thats enough
