Why are you interested in this character?
Honestly? Because she's someone who I've been interested in for some time and have never had the guts to try. Also, it's rare to see a Damara that I like, and I'd like to try and put an interesting spin on the character.
What is your personal interpretation of this character? How would you describe their personality?
Damara Megido, much like her canon counterpart, used to be pretty nice and happy. She wasn't a goody-two-shoes by any stretch of the imagination, with a rebellious streak and a taste for pot. Her family wasn't exactly wealthy, her father a low-level manager and her mother a housewife, and college seemed like a bit of a financial stretch. So when Hussie University accepted her full ride with an international student scholarship and a music scholarship, her parents were elated. Damara, not so much. She didn't want to leave her friends and her boyfriend for some new country. The food would be different, the entertainment, the language. It was the worst idea. But her parents told her it was either college in America or being on her own in Japan. She told them the latter. They told her it was not an option. So, she left...
Damara is full of rage. She hates it in Portland. She's quieter now. She's sad. She's angry. Her boyfriend, as soon as she left, started dating someone new. She feels betrayed by everyone she knows and a small part of her wants to make them all pay. She doesn't really want to make friends. In fact, she thinks she's pretty much better than anyone else on campus. Above them.
What would be your character’s major or occupation? It’s fine to be undecided, and you can change it later if you like!
Damara is a music major. She plays the flute and is really quite good at it. The flute is what helped get her into Hussie University. As such, she puts no effort into it now, skirting by in her classes with a C+. A straight C+ report card. That part of her scholarship is in jeopardy. She doesn't care enough to switch majors, but she'll have to down the road.
Give a physical description of your character:
Damara Megido is 5'4". She was always a bit on the a-little-above-average side when it came to weight, but between the anger, apathy, and change of diet, Damara is getting a bit of excess pudge, especially on her hips. She has naturally dark hair but dyes it black, long enough for a bun or pigtails or just keeping it messy and down. Her fashion is a mix of blacks and reds and bright greens for the most part. A lot of vertical stripes and sheer materials and some spikes mixed in. She tries to stick with fashion trends when within her budget, but only ones she thinks look cool.
Give an example post of your character in this AU:
She hated this campus. She hated everyone here. She hated this entire country. And right now? She hated this McDonald's. Wasn't that the appeal of fast food? That no matter where you go, it's the same? But no. What was this sauce on her chicken sandwich? No mushroom flavored fries. She couldn't even get a custard pie? But they had a crappy little burger covered in ranch dressing and tortilla strips. Who eats this garbage? Scum, that's who. That's who all these people were.
Her study partner looked at her, asking her if she was enjoying her lunch. He seemed to think this was some kind of date.
"{I could piss out a better sauce for this burger. I'd be having a better time defiling my roommate's bedspread,}" And here it comes. He smiles, palm on the back of his head as he sighs, apologizing for not understanding her. It took a lot of will to not roll her eyes.
"Sorry. Thanks to you for lunch. It's very good. I, umm, I am very appreciate." All she appreciated was not having to pay for lunch and that he had a habit of keeping his wallet on the table when he got up to get things.
