it wasn’t that felix had forgotten about the reason for his move to england. even if he were to be hit by a car and gain amnesia, he could never forget hyacinthe. peach, he always called the french kid, like the fruit; sweet, soft, fragile and beautiful. not only did hyacinthe look like the fruit, felix claimed they also carried the same type of smell. a smell he could never forget, no matter how many other scents he learned to recognize throughout his life.
it was a scent that lurked in the corners of hogwarts. hidden, but it was definitely there. only felix was too flustered, too anxious within the new school and too busy focusing wholy onto his little game device to be able to notice anything around him. he considered asking around for his long lost friend, but as soon as the italian found himself standing face to face with another student, his entire body froze and not a single word left his lips until the hallways had grown deserted.
luckily for him, in the end, he didn’t have to find peach. peach found him-- like some cliche romance novel.
the familiar scent infiltrated his nose, as if he was standing behind the younger, nose buried within his silky hair like felix would do back in the days. he’s close.
felix closed his book, nearly smacking it down onto the desk of the library before he rushed out of the room, entering the busy hallways, chestnut orbs aggressively shifting around as they searched for his friend. too many people... felix found himself tensing, heart beating rapidly within his chest as several students gazed at him while others accidentally bumped into him. about to turn around and return to the safety of the peacefully quiet library, felix lowered his gaze--
and there he was. still as small as back then, still as beautiful and still so, so fragile. felix rushed forward, storming into the crowd as if all those students weren’t actually there, thin arms wrapping around the fragile frame that had become so, so much smaller than his own. “pesca! sei tu!” pulling away slightly, felix gently cupped peach’s cheeks into his hands. “ç’est toi... ç’est vraiment toi...”
