The season kicks off with a “breaking the 4th wall” twist whereby the writers have set themselves up as Umber-like gods who took a literal shit in the fandom waters, which was the life and magic of the show, at the end of Season 4.
In a Black Mirror Bandersnatch-like “choose your own adventure” Season 5, they let the fandom decide what happens to the characters, including those who are in the Underworld or other timelines.
