Okay, I just watched Camp Snoopy...
AND HOLY SHIT ITS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE SNOOPY SHOW
Idk it's just a lot more easier to digest, and the snoopy sections are a lot more bearable in this one.

Cause wow. I mean I don't care either way, but I love this new direction for PP, she's a lot more emotionally intelligent. And Marcie and PP are so much stronger with their friendship, especially since the newer specials. It's honestly great to see.
But them stopping the CB x PP??? I couldn't believe it!

Getting back on the peanuts soap box to say marcie is trans but her parents arent accepting.
She specfically seeked out peppermint patty to hang out with figuring her best bet for being accepted by one of her peers would be to hang out with the charecter who also fought gender norms
Adding to the previous point, marcie and Peppermint Patty first met in heavy down pour. Perhaps marcie perceived her as transmasc at first, so she felt comfortable going up and talking to her.
Shes only ever seen wearing shorts and shirts because she has no real access to fem clothes. Even if she did, she couldnt leave the house in them unless she somehow snuck out.
Its known in lore that marcies parents hold her to a comically high standard in school, a lot of the time with parents like this micro managing their kid extends to other aspects of their lives including identity
I also wouldnt be suprised if marcie being scared of people percieving her is why she talks so little to anyone who isnt like 3 people she knows well (patty, charlie brown and snoopy) the majority of her interactions with other charecters come in forced group settings.
Is this all postulating with miniscule amounts of evidence? yes.
Is it fun to think my fav is trans so im gonna do it? Yea :)
Now lets try imagining cute boys.
I'm doing my yearly rewatch of It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974) in which one of the subplots has Peppermint Pattie insisting that Marcie learn how to color Easter eggs. Marcie appears to have little interest in learning about this tradition, but she never complains. Instead, she fries, waffles, and cracks eggs into boiling water. It's hard to believe Marcy simply is that clueless; in every other storyline she shares with Peppermint Patty, Marcie is the more knowledgeable of the two.
I think there's a better explanation, and it's that Marcie is Jewish, It would explain why she has not participated in this widely practiced Easter tradition. It also explains all the "mistakes." Marcie isn't uncomprehending; she is resisting Christian hegemony. Her final act of defiance comes when Snoopy gives her a colored Easter egg and she, after sprinkling some salt on it, takes a bite through the shell and declares, "Tastes terrible, sir!"
It's disappointing that Charles M. Shultz couldn't be more explicit about Marcie's Jewishness, but it's not very surprising considering how hard he had to fight include Franklin, a visibly Black character, in his comic strip in 1968. And, least in the holiday specials, Franklin is never shown participation in any traditions with his Black family or community. (He really has no better options for Thanksgiving than eating jelly beans and popcorn with a bunch of White kids? Ok, Mr. Shultz).
Even including a kid who is decidedly not Christian was pushing boundaries for the time. Still, I wish we'd gotten a chance to see Chag Pesach, Charlie Brown.
