This one-of-a-kind ice cream combines the sweet taste of ripe pears with the salty, rich flavor of blue cheese to make a delicious mix that will surprise and please your taste buds. Great for dessert lovers who like to try new things!
Ingredients: 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped. 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese. 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: Using a blender, blend the peeled pears until they are smooth. Put the heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt, and pureed pears in a saucepan. While stirring every now and then, heat the mixture over medium-low heat until it just starts to simmer. Take it off the heat and add the blue cheese crumbles. Stir them in until the blue cheese melts and is well mixed in. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Put the mix in a bowl and let it cool down until it's room temperature. Put the dish in the fridge with the lid on for at least 4 hours, or until it is very cold. Put the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn it according to the directions on the machine. After churning, put the ice cream in a container that can go in the freezer and freeze it for another two to three hours, until it is firm. Enjoy pear and blue cheese ice cream with scoops.
