This is the Pearl Cluster! 🦪🦪🦪
This cluster is part of the Carina molecular cloud, a vast star forming region that is around 460 light years in diameter. This star cluster’s age and speed is also an intriguing factor: it is very young at only 14.4 million years years old and is approaching us at 14.8 km/s! 💫💫💫

i love the show Steven universe and decided to make my own pearl design ;D i liked the idea of her having a ‘’pearl cluster’’ as her gem instead of a single pearl. so i guess in home-worlds eyes shes defective but i like it so lets go with it xD I made her with having a beach look in mind and this is what happened ;D

Appearing like a shimmering pearl in the night sky, there are about 140 listed stars that call this open cluster "home". The Pearl Cluster is relatively young with an estimated age of about 14.4 million years old. Recently, several unusual variable stars were found in this cluster that haven't been found elsewhere yet.
