"phantom and lace being loving siblings and!- " PHANTOM AND LACE BUT PHANTOM WOULD RIP LACE TO SHREDS phantom and lace but lace is everything phantom WISHES they could've been, phantom and lace but phantom is so starved and so desperate for everything lace had theyre willing to kill her for it. phantom and lace but phantom is insane and her trauma got to her
me when people treat lace like an adult and dont infantalise her, mewhen people dont mischaracterise her,, mewhen people characterise her trauma and the results of her trauma well,, me when lace
lace likes to wake up early and has an alarm ( cricket ) but when she takes it to hornets home to sleep together she wakes up with her cricket gone and a guilty look on hornets face.
guys im going insane I LOVE LACE I LOVE LACE I LOVE LACE I LOVE LACE and i love lacenet/lace and hornets relationship no matter what it is I LOVE LACEEEE UEUEYDFGFHFGFHHHGFFF
bugs probably use fur and hair interchangably but its funny to think about hornet seeing lace's hair down for the first time and calling it ' incredibly long fur ' because the concept of hair as we know it is completely foreign to bugs
some more finalised watcher thoughts, design and theories
first we got the design!!
originally I tried to give them feathers but I didn't rlly like how it turned out, so i went for frills. also i headcannon that at the beginning of the campaign watcher is 100% a child but by the end, they mentally mature, not out of will but out of need( as well as being turned sentient) they still are bodily young, just traumatised as well!! ( jokes aside I feel so bad for watcher, please they need their happy ending )
my watcher theories \/ ( it's a yap session be careful you might get lost )
in the final ending sequence, you are shown daemon surrounded by multitudes of spheres. You eventually jump into one, shoving you into the depths
i think daemon is you
daemon by one definition is a background process that handles requests
i think Daemon is either the part of your subconscious mind that connects to the world and controls what your world is like or the same but only for the enlightened
the spheres are your cycles. a new cycle to you is marked by a significant event
when you first see the watcher's cycles, they are misaligned and all over the place, connecting where they shouldn't, but after seeing the weaver you were taught that this isn't how it should be, and the weavers teaches you and helps you UNDERSTAND that and how to fix it, and upon learning this thats what you do, you fix it. you seal up warps and as you do that it begins to align your cycles once more ( shown in the daemon sequence as well )
the proof for this is that they're other daemons in the background, hundreds. and while yours look messy, the others have rings of cycles around them that yours eventually turn into as well.
also, i think the misaligned cycles are still ( indirectly ) caused by watchers trauma. this time a little different though
( this is a bit sad, but it's what i'm going with for now ) i think that watcher may have tried to drown themselves in one cycle, because of both the dream and the real place the dream is in both times you begin in water. you end up here because daemon considers this a significant event and created a new cycle out of it, this is why you are able to go back to it, same with how you're able to go back to the toys ( in the ST ending watcher is clearly having fun playing with the toys to help with this point ) and this is also why you go to depths as well. anyway ofc the cycle took over and they came back and continue living, but loneliness is a hard thing to live with, and without help their trauma only gets worse, it scrambles daemon as ofc daemon is part of your mind and this ruins the alignment of all of watchers cycles, making rot, rot being formed from the chaos that is now your mind and cycles ( this stems from my idea that the void is balance and rot is chaos )
this also explains 5p's situation, he tried to end his cycle. this isn't supposed to happen for iterators! he was NEVER supposed to die or ascend, it's been coded into his mind HIS DAEMON that he was never supposed to do this, but both the attempt to do that and the obsession to do it shoved 5p into a similar situation as watcher. the rot that would be appearing in his own cycles being projected onto the other cycles creating the blue rot that we normally see ( blue rot is rot that isn't yours and will be different colors depending on who's it is, while purple rot is the rot the only appears in your own cycles/ the cycles of who's it belongs to)
it ALSO explains hunter, they changed their place in the food chain and became carnivorous, but this wasn't supposed to happen, slugcats aren't supposed to do this, where a creature is within the ecosystem is hardwired in a creatures brain ( and daemon once again ) so when hunter goes against this- it scrambled their cycles giving hunter rot. so rot truly does come from karmic (and cycle) misalignment
lastly, watcher themselves is already an echo. in one cycle shown in the final ending you go through the depths and ascend, turning into a void worm.
my theory is that void worms are the remnants and physical remains of those who did not let go, of echoes, while watcher resides in the void now, their mind is stuck replaying the memories of it all
i wonder if other higher beings consider grimm woke because of how much more time they spend around mortal bugs and being friendly to them compared to other higher beings
