Curiosity ABOUT cats

To my knowledge, I have never seen a pedigree cat IRL.

I live in a relatively rural area, & few people around here even like cats, certainly don’t keep them indoors. No one spends that kind of money on them.

So I’m wondering if this is just a local thing, or if the cat fancy is really uncommon everywhere.
