4 Summer Favorites from the Interra Collection

With summer just around the corner its time to freshen up those outdoor areas with fabulous colors and amazing furniture. Speaking of, we have just the chairs!! Actually, we have A LOT of perfect chairs, but today we will focus on 4 versatile favorites in our Interra Collection.

We are also going to speak to the CEO of Interra to get an insight into the outdoor trends of the season. Viggo has always loved innovative furniture and modern design. Having grown up in Denmark Viggo has a great eye for Scandinavian design, which inspired him as a young entrepreneur starting his own furniture company. About 6 years ago, Viggo started searching for something new which led him to create the Interra Collection, a completely Italian design line that “combines the Scandinavian feel with the innovation and playfulness of Italian design”.

Viggo Has chosen 4 chairs that we will be presenting throughout this blog post, as well as the reason for his choice.

Summer Chair

The great thing about the Sunset is that it has a very laid back vibe about it. It has curve and style while keeping an air of lightness, summer and relaxation. The curved seat and back rest makes it a perfect chair to enjoy long summer dinners in. 

Lisa Chair

The Lisa chair is an elegant outdoor chair. It is less lounge and more proper, which makes it perfect for dining settings. The great thing about the Lisa chair is that it comes in a technopolymer version as well as a waterproof upholstered version, which allows for many options when it comes to the interplay between colors and textures.

Pedrali Mesmerizes at “I Maestri del Paesaggio 2019”

Here at Interra, we know the magic that Pedrali can create, both indoor and outdoor, so every year we look forward to the “I Maestri del Paesaggio” and per usual Pedrali did not disappoint. 

“I Maestri del Paesaggio 2019”, the ninth edition of the Landscape Festival in Bergamo, Italy has just ended, supplying us with the most astonishing photos from the event, which is sponsored every year by Pedrali, who promotes sustainability through their environmentally conscious philosophies and values. 

Pedrali decorated the Piazza Vecchia, in the heart of the event in Bergamo Alta with an air of comfort, elegance, and innovation. 

The main theme, Pioneer Landscape aims to shine a light on spontaneous vegetation as well as the role that plants play as live, dynamic entities. In order to reproduce such a delicate, meaningful topic, Arketipos, the association that oversees the festival in conjunction with the city of Bergamo, has formed a partnership with Luciano Giubbilei, an Italian London-based landscape designer, who has transformed Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo Alta into a spectacular garden. 

Provided with the lush green environment combining city and nature, Pedrali creates a convivial garden staying true to the theme of pioneer landscape by introducing the Tribeca chair and Nolita table - in earthy tones - into the garden.

There are various points of interest scattered throughout the Città Alta, like the old washing where the project Green Lounge – Pedrali all’Antico Lavatoio by Lucia Nusiner is introduced, here furniture and plants blend harmoniously with the surroundings, creating unexpected settings. Besides the Tribeca seats, the Reva divan by Patrick Jouin evokes a feeling of relaxation as the magical atmosphere of the light from the Giravolta and Happy Apple lamps by Basaglia Rota Nodari Architetti Associati draw you into an enchanting environment.

At the landscape corners, we see a small glimpse of Elliot and Ikon tables combined with the Tribeca settee and the Ara chair. The Sala delle Capriate at Palazzo della Ragione features Héra, the armchair designed by Patrick Jouin and presented at the Salone del Mobile Milano 2019, and Soul chair, designed by Eugeni Quitllet.

Get Comfortable with Pedrali and the Color of the Year

“An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.” 

Presenting the color of the year; living coral in combination with Pedrali. 

This year is characterized by optimism and environmental sustainability, which are two words synonymous with Pedrali. Not only does Pedrali strive to be sustainable in everything they do, but they also do it with an air of ease and optimism. 

Today, we are going to be looking at the color of the year to see some of the Pedrali amazing pieces, which really showcase the color.

The Buddy family consists of poufs and chaise lounge’s, designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, and with its soft lines and minimalistic and simple design, the Buddy really compliments any room. The buddy puff and chaise lounge come with or without a backrest, which makes it a very versatile piece. 

The Volt chairs and armchairs, designed by Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci, are like the Buddy collection a very versatile chair. the classic proportions make it a great chair for any space and with its fresh colors it can fit in, in a lot of different settings. We love the Volt chair due to its comfort and durability, which makes it perfect for high-intensity spaces.

The Volt is created for outdoors and Interra Designs offers a warranty of 5 years on color fading and any damages (this is actually the warranty on all our products - pretty awesome!!!). 

The Wow puffs and stools are ideal for smaller spaces and offer a beautiful seating solution. 

The Wow comes in round, square and rectangular shapes, which allows them to be mixed and matched. They also function perfectly as side tables, which like the Buddy collection makes it very versatile. 

The Lively Coral doesn't just adorn the chairs and puffs, it also does wonders for the Giravolta lamp.

The Nolita (to the right) and the Tribeca (left) are both outdoor chairs, however, the Nolita has an air of the classic 70’s garden furniture whereas the Tribeca is a modern take on this. The Tribeca has a steel frame and a handwoven seat, whereas the Nolita is all steel. They both light up any space with their playful look and their vibrant colors.

Lastly, we have two really amazing chairs, the Jazz chair (right) exudes style with is velvet-covered seat and backrest and titanium steel frame. The soft lines and embracing backrest gives the Jazz chair a welcoming feel. 

The upholstered Malmo chair combined the natural beauty of the oak frame combined with the soft living coral, giving it a modern Scandinavian look. The Malmo communicates a feeling of calmness and domestic warmth, which makes it very unique. 

This year we also see a lot of wood as a trend within furniture, which is the symbol of naturalness in furniture. Luckily, Pedrali knows how to design amazing wood furniture, not only is all their wood FSC branded (gotta love Pedrali’s focus on sustainability), they also have a wide array of chairs in different kinds of wood.
