So I just want to go on record as officially boarding the Pedro Matos hype train (honestly maybe I’m driving it atp?) because now that he’s Oscar’s personal engineer I feel like we’re going to see a lot more of him.
He gives off the same kind of vibe as Oscar in the few formal interviews I've been able to find; a bit serious at first glance, but you can tell there’s a dry sense of humour there and when you see him interacting with his team, he’s clearly happy to have a laugh or play along with a joke. He was Antonelli’s race engineer when Kimi raced for Prema, and their driver/engineer couples therapy vid is actually hilarious.
idk, I just have a good feeling about this guy. I think he’s going to be really good for Oscar this year and fit in really well with McLaren's whole teamwork culture, even while fully supporting Oscar on his side of the garage. Dude seems solid.
