im finding it hysterical that you live in the minds of the peevesters completely without rent and all bills paid for courtesy of their schizophrenia. I quote verbatim from distantpeak - who has time to rp BOTH high elf AND blood elf magisters while racking up nearly 15000 forum posts - "Oh no, it's the CoAD defence."

and they have literally nothing to actually argue back against the things you say about them. they KNOW coad is right and it pisses them off so much they are probably going to be furiously hate jorking when they see this post go up because they obsessively follow you.

We are well aware that we are the most read community blog on Argent Dawn. While readership has been low over the last few months due to our own lack of engagement we still routinely have hundreds per week checking in. We have metrics to monitor this. Our subscription numbers only rise, albeit it not by the scores as they were during our peak but new viewers appear every week.

We are mostly shared by word of mouth we believe, linked in DMs, groupchats and the like.

While we used to actively despise the peever throng, as a team we did some self reflection earlier around the new year and figured there was no need to be as hardline on them. They're already societally dead ends with utterly grim prospects (where did Croecell go? Are they alright? Where is Gabrindion?) so they rely on the toxic social networks they have to physically continue in the existential sense.

Yes they are banal and as annoying as any redditor you may come across but actual harm? In the PCU sense? Nowhere near. So we've decided to adopt a general stance of pity towards them for the last few months rather than active measures.

But you are correct, they will be obsessively back patting one another once this post goes out, sweating and panting furiously. So we can only say this to them. "Do not worry, you are worthy of our grace."

Lmao speaking of AI, not surprised the 'waa your big mean chatbots make your rp insincere' its made by the cloutscraping Draenei. Like the rest of the performative roleplayers on Argent Dawn who sit about talking about RP but not actually doing any RP, like the peever sorts and the lot you have talked about before here.

I would have given their points some more consideration if it was not mindless redditspeak.

While the idea of what they are saying has merit, we can only agree with the context of what you are saying (and we thank you again for said context given in DMs) about the individual in question.

Yes, they would be taken more seriously if they were challenging the various guild and community threats blatantly using ChatGPT generated write ups (and some of the replies bumping it even more worriedly) but they're not doing that.

Feckless slacktivism a la the Vixi/Telaryn/Loras throng style who don't actually stand for any morals aside from getting dopamine bursts belittling and striking anyone they think they can get away with on the forums without recourse.

Truly, a paragon of his kind. Forum activists indeed.

what's the lore on the peeves thread, for a newish forum lurker?

Forum dwellers wanted a 'Argent Dawn General Chat' thread, which goes against forum CoC (Code of Conduct) as threads are supposed to have a defined "topic" for discussion (Transmog / Lore / Spoilers / Roleplay Guilds) etc.

The "pet peeves" topic was made which then quickly spiralled into beyond what it was probably intended for, which was to post about little annoyances in one's life i.e. a peeve and quickly became just a continuation of the previous attempts at making the "general chat" threads.

A number of the pet peeve topics were taken down but the "talking heads" who had established themselves in there kept remaking locked threads (a direct violation of forum CoC) repeatedly, often multiple times at once.

Finally it seems the gutted forum moderation team ultimately decided to set up an automated 'system' (hence why each thread is started by 'system') that would let the threads run and refresh them each time it reached maximum posts.

The "talking heads" (players who spend more time writing forum posts than playing in game) with their 8000, 9000 - 25,000 post counts treat the thread as their public private blog space. Where they can post with impunity anything from cat pictures, memes or just slander anyone they dislike without caring for the forum CoC.

Any attempt to speak out against them or post about topics they are not interested in are drowned out, mass flagged or otherwise condescendingly treated as if the "outsider" person is somehow flawed or evil.

They have utterly no ability to introspect themselves or their behavior and because they deem everything they and their friends write as 100% true and flawless there is often hysteria when they find their posts flagged when they break the forum CoC.

They periodically try to impose themselves on other forum threads and turn them into their own extensions too (PTR thread primarily but not limited to) and get rather ruffled when they gain semi-awareness that they are a tiny vocal minority who are insignificant.

Or to TL;DR: People who don't really play the game much thinking they're far more important than they believe and think they are incapable of doing wrongs, and that they can treat the official realm forum as their own personal blogspace and act rather putrid to anyone outside of their groupthink.
