Alright I’ve been obsessed with persona 5 and here are some things I feel like everyone needs this post soo???
I will always call the protagonist/hero/trickster/joker name as Akira Kusuru buuut in ship names and stuff he’s called aaaaa lllot of other things so here’s where they come from??? This is all second hand info sorry if it’s in accurate??? I just thought it might be nice to put them all in one place???
Chair-kun. If your new here you won’t get this one (I didn’t buut it’s persona so I didn’t even question it lol). It’s from when the first trailer was released for persona 5. It was a few seconds long with the lines “you are a prisoner, want emancipation?” Over a bunch of chairs with handcuffs on them. So with no images of who was the main character everyone joking called the unknown protagonist chair-kun.
Pego. Pego is actually the short hand for the game in Japanese taking the first syllable of word persona (ペルンナ) and the Japanese ways of saying five go (五). So pego or persona go so persona 5. So pego-kun became short for the protagonist of 5.
Shujinkou. Apparently shujinkou (might be the wrong version of the word I’m trying here sorry) is a common thing to call unnamed protagonists in jrpgs. Stands for something simallar to ‘person’ or ‘player’ ‘protagonist’???? I’ll have to check this one I’m forgetting now oops. Ahh
all this and I actually have no idea how Akira Kusuru became his name though, lol. I think it’s from the/a manga for p5??? but I don’t know what makes it officially his name?? It’s just what widely accepted I guess.
