idek why but i cant stop thinking about the ferengis as bugs rn...

this started cause i was looking at photos of rom and he was reminding me of a silly beetle.. and thus my ferengi bug hcs are as follows!:

Rom - COCKCHAFER BEETLE

Quark - i always associate him with grubs/slugs cause.. he's Him... but in reality he would absolutely be a jewel beetle

Nog - ladybug!

Brunt - stinkbug

Ishka - butterfly (SPECIFICALLY indian leafwing butterflies)

Pel - hmm grasshopper or katydid perhaps.... court is still out on that one

Wacky Ferengi hijinks episode except Pel is the main character and the Romulans are involved for some reason, so Senator Cretak is also there. I think they’d bounce off each other in really interesting ways.

One is an outcast, the other a senator. But behind the scenes Ishka’s reforms are passing and Starfleet is making cold calculations about Romulan politics. Pel could return but has spent years building up contacts and workarounds such that it almost doesn’t matter. Cretak might perceive this as a lack of patriotism, but she doesn’t yet know how her own loyalty will be repaid.

There’s so much space to layer looming dramatic irony underneath all their conversations while the usual silly Ferengi shenanigans are happening in the foreground.
