Like idk... I am an artist but I am a human first. And the way I'd have to live to make the artist lifestyle work is just not worth it.
Maybe if I was financially stable and paid someone to clean my house, it would be a different story. But right now, I already pay for the high I get from a creative flow state- with clutter building up, lack of time for myself, and loneliness from having to be on my own. That's because I do all of my creative work on top of working full time / being a full time student, and actually maintaining my personal connections.
Unfortunately I've seen the effects of failed attempts to maintain a creative career in late-stage capitalism, and they are not pretty. It's a massive risk to take, and I am honestly not sure it's worth it to sink everything into art with no backup plan.
So maybe I am putting my artistic career on the shelf for now, but it will be there when I get back. Something tells me that I will be a better artist moving slowly and responsibly in my life, than I ever would be if I tried to burn bright and fast now.
