PelNyx for the ship bingo

PelNyx, my beloved. If CorNyx did not have my heart, I would be all in on this. As it is, I tend to HC that it happened, and that split up (but didn't move on) when Nyx was at his most self-destructive, which helped both of them. And now they are very happily in other relationships, but still have a good friendship spiced with History.

Explanations: - I'm gonna go through their tag AGAIN (only 40 fics in the tag T_T). - They were both trying to support each other but ended up enabling each other when they were drowning in the dark sides of their work and traumas. Being in relationships with someone a step removed from their fieldwork helped them both, as did some growing up. That said, I don't mind happily ever after with them later (I just like Cor <3) - Continue to be extremely important to each other - Nyx turns to Pelna when he needs help and Pelna does so without hesitation, and Pelna has privileges for using "hero" without hurting Nyx even in fraught emotional conversations. I love them as friends, too. <3

Yesterday was kissing day in Japan so I asked my server if they wanted to see specific pairings. _ghostlybuns on Twitter asked for some Pel/Nyx. So I remembered a fic of these by @archangelunmei so I took the inspiration and drew this!

Blame @blitzkrieg-mit-dem-fleischgewehr for this bout of PelNyx obsession. We were watching the movie Rock of Ages and just.....not a single big name in that movie took it seriously and it was GREAT! We got talking about Pelna and Nyx and it took off from there.... XP

kingslaive nyx ships are like:

a woman he slowly but surely comes to not only respect for her dedication but also understands her intentions and mindset (that he had previously misunderstood)

a woman he very clearly cares for, over who's untimely demise he was accordingly upset

his childhood best friend who he obviously loves and who disagrees with his choice to trust in the king, only to come around and understand his opinion just when it's too late

his superior who he has trusted both on and outside the battlefield, who not only betrayed king and crown and home, but also his brothers in arms, and who died a martyr

a prince who he had previously not necessarily considered worthy of the throne, but now believes in to be a worthy king, by virtue of all the people who believe in the prince themselves
