Matteo Pelucchi sprinted to victory in stage two of the Tirreno-Adriatico, while Britain’s Mark Cavendish retained the overall lead.
Pelucchi pipped Franc;s Arnaud Demare in a bunch sprint to claim the second stage spoils, with Omega Pharma – Quick-Step’s Cavendish finishing safely in the lead group to add to his team time trial win on Wednesday.

Meet Pelucchi!
Pelucchi was the winner of my cutest character competition that I ran at the London Pet Show, and I think you'll agree he was a worthy winner! His owner describes him as "an avid reader of Dogs today magazine and a superb sandcastle builder even though he only has one front leg!".
He was easily one of the most fun-to-draw dogs I've sketched and I can't wait to Sketch more characters like Pelucchi in the future.
