a vision; a warning against complacency.
TEMPLE SUMMONING
Pen has helped Rowan successfully summon the god Asphodel. At what cost ? Rowan has unveiled his motives, and Pen seeks to curb the budding conflict before it comes to a head.
Let's say he isn't expecting the outcome of his decision.
he didn't really want to but if warrior cats has taught us anything, it's that nobody can say no to an ambitious youth. but... why is this deer such a skilled flier ?
How did he Know that killing and eating an angel would give him wings
he didn't know that completely. only that ancient texts describing rituals for gaining a temporary pair of wings mentioned needing divinity in your system for the ritual to have success.
in ancient times, when Asphodel and his angels were closer to the living, this probably wasn't difficult to achieve. It might have been a ritual partaken in following a communion between the living and the divine, when a shared meal might have imparted a safe dose of divinity into the mortals' systems.
Killing and eating an angel does have the intended effect of delivering the angel's divinity into the body of its consumer, but at. a VASTLY higher dosage. Which he was entirely unaware of.
It wasn't easy to kill an angel, nor was it fun, but he was sure he had to do it. So he did. The idea of partaking in its' holy flesh was sickening, but he had to do it to progress. So he did. And he somehow convinced Pen to do it, too. And, once they got over the. probably terribly soul-wracking psychoactive holy sickness from consuming more divinity than their mortal [ish, for Pen's sake,] bodies could handle. They successfully preformed the ritual with each other.
That extra divinity is going to stay in their systems for a Long Time. They're both keeping their wings for a good while.
[Hello honey of the cloves]
[Question about your green FFTT : is there any reason for the trinkets on the belt? (Aka the red b a l l), wanted to ask for a bit now :3]
[Cheers mate!]
it is a vial of Red Paint ! Made of a plant-based pigment and tree sap. He uses it in his rituals for various purposes, like drawing sigils or marking his working space.
The smear on his shirt is Also paint, but he didn't intend to mark himself with it so much as he was trying to get it off his hands. He didn't dip his hands in it; it just appeared there when he received an omen. It's permanently stained his shirt, but he was at least pleased to discover it wasn't blood.
The two sachels on his crossbody and the one on his belt each hold various herbs and a few tools. He does in fact carry matches, mostly for lighting the oil lamps at the old Temple of the Gods whenever he visits it for upkeep.
