dream would be soooo attentive towards gnf when he reveals the pregnancy, treating him like he hung the moon
(Read part one here)
"I'm pregnant," George said, eyes misty with unshed tears as he rubbed a thumb across Dream's cheek.
The words rang in Dream's ears like a symphony - a beautiful, perfect melody that lifted his heart until he felt like it would pull him up through the ceiling, up among the clouds to soar with the birds.
Once the words finally settled, though, and his heart drifted back to earth, reality settled in.
Pregnant.
George.
With his baby.
Their baby.
"Really?" he whispered, pressing their foreheads together. "You're sure?"
"No," George sassed with a chuckle and a roll of his eyes. "I just thought it would be fun to pee on a stick and see what happened. Of course I'm sure, you idiot. I'm going to have a baby. Your baby. Probably around your birthday if my counting is right, although the doctor will know for sure and -"
Dream couldn't help himself, cutting off George's rambling with a tender kiss to his lips.
"I love you so much," Dream whispered into the small space between them after he pulled away - a space that held not just two heartbeats, but three. "Do you have any idea how happy you've made me?"
"Oh, I have an idea," George replied, chasing Dream's kiss with one of his own.
"So, you're," Dream lifted his hand to count on his fingers. "Six weeks along then?"
"Closer to eight, I think," George shrugged. "Although the doctor will know for sure. I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow."
"And I'm taking you," Dream kissed him again, then trailed his hands down to rest on the sides of George's waist. He rubbed his thumbs across George's belly, still flat but not for long.
He couldn't wait to see that beautiful little bump - proof of the life they'd created between them.
"You know," George looked at him fondly, then covered Dream's hands with his own. "I'm probably going to be even more annoying for the next few months, what with morning sickness and pregnancy cravings and all. Are you ready for that?"
"Am I ready for that?" Dream pulled one hand away from George's belly and pressed over George's cheek. "Of course I'm ready! I mean, I might have to read up on a few things but I know some stuff from when my sister was pregnant. Like you'll need antacids. And crackers. And extra pillows to elevate your head for the first trimester so your heartburn isn't so bad, and whatever kind of food you crave, I'll get it for you."
"Even if it's pickles and ice cream?"
"Even if it's pickles and ice cream," Dream repeated, leaning in to kiss him once more. "You're carrying our child, George. And the next nine months I'm going to pamper you - both of you - like crazy."
"Well in that case," George mumbled against Dream's lips, then reluctantly pulled away. "I do have one request."
"Okay," Dream sat up on the bed, ready for whatever task George gave him. "What d'you want?"
He definitely wasn't prepared, though, for what happened next.
With flushed cheeks, George reached into the pocket of his pajama pants and pulled out - a ring?
"I know you probably wanted to do this, and you still can if you want," George said. "But I've been meaning to ask you for a while, even before I got pregnant, and now, it just feels right."
"George," Dream gasped as he looked at the ring pinched between George's shaking fingers. A simple gold band adorned with a row of tiny diamonds.
"Dream, will you marry me?"
Dream thought he couldn't be happier with the news of George's pregnancy, but this? This sent him to the moon and back.
"Yes," Dream nodded his head in excitement as George slipped the ring on his finger. "Of course I'll marry you!"
"Good then," George pulled him in for one more kiss, one that Dream sank further into with each passing second. A pregnancy and a proposal? This was the happiest day of his life.
"Anything else you wanted?" Dream asked.
"Just some more cuddles and kisses," George snuggled into Dream. "And maybe some apple slices later."
"You got it," he tipped his head and placed a lingering kiss on the top of George's head. "I love you, George."
"And I love you too," George sighed against him, and with that sigh pulled Dream into dreamland with him. "I love you too."
hi pen :] yes really excited for the potential dnf stream :] im still at work now going to leave soon :D also did u see dreams tiktok his so fascinating
Yes, and it's funny, maybe it's because I'm a mom but the "butt up" pose reminds me of my kids when they were babies (a common pose for babies to sleep in).
Hmmm...
Early morning sunlight filtered through the gap in the curtains as George made his way back to his and Dream's bed. It really wasn't different from any other morning. Dream lay on his stomach, ass in the air - one of many poses he slept in.
In the past George always reacted to that pose the same way. He'd crawl into bed, stare at that perfect curve for a moment, and then give it a playful little slap to rouse Dream from his slumber.
Now though...
Now George had a different reaction. A stirring of butterflies in his chest and a squeezing of his heart as George imagined someone else sleeping like that.
George's heart beat a little quicker and he froze when Dream shifted, rolling onto his side in a new position that made the fluttering increase.
Slowly Dream's eyes opened and a soft smile curved up the corners of his lips. "Baby, come back to bed," he reached out his arms, making grabby motions before pulling them back in and settling back into his curled up pose. "I'm cold."
"With all those blankets?"
"You're warmer," Dream said sleepily. "Especially lately. It's like you're my personal furnace."
George chuckled, then took the last few steps to the bed and climbed inside, settling behind Dream and pulling him into his new warmth.
If only Dream knew the reason for it.
"Um," George cleared his throat and nuzzled into the soft spot where Dream's neck and shoulder met. He pressed a lingering kiss there, hoping it would help to calm his nerves.
This was no big deal.
He could do this.
"Yeah?" Dream turned his head to look over his shoulder, lips meeting in a brief kiss that was sweet even with their morning breath. "What's up?"
"So, um," George lightly gripped the fabric of Dream's t-shirt, an attempt to ground himself. "There's a reason why I've been so warm lately."
Dream rolled around in bed to face him, lips quirked in amusement. "Well yeah, it's because you're so hot with that new beard."
"Dream," George chuckled, gaze fixed on the chain around Dream's neck. "That's not... I mean, I won't object but I don't think that's the real reason."
"Then what is the real reason?" Dream asked, reaching between them to take George's hand. He laced their fingers together before bringing it to his lips and kissing the knuckles.
George took a deep breath in, held it and exhaled before looking up into Dream's eyes. Eyes that mirrored all the love in George's heart, love that had grown exponentially since the moment he'd heard Dream's voice for the first time eight years ago. Back then, when an ocean had separated them, he'd never thought he'd be here now, in Dream's arms.
But he was. And things were only going to get better. Their love would only grow, more and more every day until it manifested itself in the best way. In a perfect, beautiful thing that would bind them together.
Forever.
"Dream, I -"
"Yes?" Dream kissed his knuckles again.
George melted into it, but then blinked in an attempt to refocus himself. "I was, um... thinking about your crazy sleep positions, how you sleep like -"
"A baby?" Dream finished his thought. "You know, my mom used to say that when I still lived at home, that even as an adult I sleep like I did when I was a baby."
"Huh," George said, face flushed with a new warmth, one that spread until it engulfed his whole body. "Funny you should say that..."
"What do you - " Dream looked into his eyes, and confusion morphed into hope, then surprise, then pure unbridled joy. "Wait... you mean..."
"Just took the test," George smiled, tears welling in his eyes that he blinked away while brushing the tears from Dream's.
"it's not fair," George pouted from where he lay on the sofa, his head cradled by the pillow on Dream's lap.
"Hmm?" Dream paused what he was doing and looked at George in concern. "What's not fair?"
"it's stupid," George rolled his eyes, cheeks flushing pink.
And it was. Or at least Dream would think so. It all started a half hour ago. Dream started running his fingers through George's hair, while they watched Breaking Bad for the twelfth time. He lightly massaged his fingers in gentle circles, in a way that made George's brain go all fuzzy inside.
After several minutes of blissful contentment, George's phone dinged and he picked it up with a frown to silence it.
How dare anything interrupt his scalp massage.
And he was just about to tap the button on the side to put his phone in DND when he saw it.
A scar.
Right there on his thumb, a reminder of his traumatic attack from that monster of a fish last month. Or was it two months ago? Whenever, it was long enough ago that the scar should have been gone by now.
Guess not.
He'd studied it for a while, holding his hand close and then far away to see if it was really that noticeable - it was. Which meant he had three scars now. Three imperfections for Dream to focus on every time he looked at him.
"George," Dream said, his voice low, comforting and just enough to pull a sigh from George's throat. "Whatever it is that's upsetting you, it's not stupid. Definitely not more stupid than trying to shove a jar of pickles in my mouth."
George chuckled, his anxiety easing a little at that memory.
He sighed, took a look at his thumb, then cautiously lifted it up into Dream's line of vision.
"You think it's unfair to have thumbs?" Dream raised one brow.
"No, idiot," George rolled his eyes. "The scar. From that fish that bit me. It didn't go away and now I'm going to have it forever and it'll be a reminder of what an idiot I am just like my other scars and-"
He froze, words trapped on his tongue as Dream took George's thumb in his hand and kissed it.
"Dream, what the... why did you..." George mumbled as warmth rushed into his cheeks and spread down his neck.
Dream tipped his chin down to look at him, gaze soft in the way that was reserved for George and George alone. "Just my way of trying to make it better," he said. "And to show you that even with your scars, you're beautiful."
"Really?" George whispered back. "All of them?"
"Mm-hmm," Dream nodded then slid his hand under George's head and lifted it off the pillow until George was seated beside him. With gentle fingers he brushed the curls from George's forehead. "All of them. This one on your eyebrow," he leaned in and kissed it, lips lingering for a moment that made George's heart stutter in his chest.
"Any others?"
"Hmm," Dream took George's chin in his hand and lifted it, then kissed the scar that stuck out in the scruff along his jaw. "This one too."
"And if I get attacked by another fish," George asked. "Or if I get into a car crash and get more scars?"
"No matter how many scars you get," Dream kissed his lips once for good measure. "You'll always be beautiful to me."
George kissed him back, then smiled as he leaned into him. "You're an idiot," he said, fond as always.
"And you love me." Dream kissed the top of his head.
"Yeah," George nestled into his side. "I do love you."
"And I love you too," Dream whispered. "Scars and all."
