The Eagle Works shop has its beginnings as a date night. We have always been DIY, make it yourself, crafty etc sort of people. Mr. Eagle planned a date night pen turning class at a local woodworking store for us.
Turns out, we really liked it.
By trade, we are a diesel mechanic and a medical laboratory technician turned homeschool mom. But, at our heart, we are makers. We converted our garage into our workshop and began the process of buying equipment.
We make things to bring art to everyday life. I love all forms of art, but I really love sneaking some magic into the mundane. I just had to sign some business papers, so I brought a fancy ballpoint pen and my glittery fountain pen.
It's harder to be sad about paying taxes when you have a cool pen 😄
I write a note and include it with each piece we make, I try to tell the story or inspiration behind it. Guess what pen I use?
Somehow it feels like a full circle moment to use the first pen I ever made. It's not the most beautiful pice I have ever made, but it will always be special to me.
Thanks for reading the random musings of this maker. Now I need to finish my coffee and get back out in the shop for the weekend!
Have a beautiful weekend! Sneak some magic into your everyday for me.
