steph ! steph , steph , steph.  god , i have so much to say and i’m sure i’ll somehow choke and not say all i want to say but here’s a good start :

i 👏 love 👏 you 👏.  when i first saw you followed me and i went to check your blog , i could not follow fast enough.  i’m weak for arthur with siblings  —  and who knows , maybe i had a gut feeling.  i have never been so glad to follow someone , i think.  not only do i love catherine on her own but i absolutely love what we have created for her and arthur.  i cannot imagine a world for arthur where she isn’t there.

if only that was all but no !  you are also an absolutely wonderful human being.  smart , funny , kind and i feel incredibly blessed to have been able to meet you in person.  you’ll always be a part of me now , even if we lose touch , even if we drift apart , i will forever keep you near my heart ( that even rhymed ).

CAMELOT  AGAIN.  it  seemed  that  all  roads  were  destined  to  lead  to  this  nexus  point  of  all  these  arcane  laylines.  why  else  would  a  city  so  against  the  presence  of  magic  (  *  not  that  gwaine  thought  it  really  mattered  what  the  city  &  laws  thought.  magic  simply  was  &  it  cared  little  for  the  written  word  )  be  rife  with  its  very  essence  ?   gwaine  sighed,  leaning  back  with  his  head  pillowed  by  his  hands,   ❛   your  brother  could  do  with  a  better  sense  of  humour.   ❜   another  day,  another  sorcery  -  related  incident.  arthur  grew  more  somber  by  the  day.  it  was  beginning  to  grate  of  his  nerves  to  see  the  prince  (  *  still  a  prince,  for  the  king  still  lived  )  so  down.

       the ride had taken them into the depths of the forest that bordered ESSETIR and yet merlin was still none the wiser as to where they were going.  the proximity to the other kingdom worried him but surely his companion was wise enough not to cross the border.  the fact that he had ridden out with her at all would guarantee a day in the stocks  -  he dreaded to think what punishment should befall him if catherine decided that their journey required a trip into the neighbouring kingdom.  but for all these worries,  his CONCERN for her hurried request when she approached him,  was greater.  how could he turn her down when she placed her trust in him and,  most of all,  asked for none other than merlin to accompany her to wherever it was that they were going.  the location,  however,  was not entrusted to him.

        ❛  can you at least tell me that we’re not going to cross the border to cenred’s kingdom...  ❜

❛ YOUR FEET — ❜                    the words are harsh and frustrated as they pass his lips, the flat of his sword moving to push her feet apart.

❛ you can’t FIGHT if you’re not ready to move; not if you want to stay alive anyway. feet apart, knees relaxed — and for the love of god, don’t stand so straight !   you’re not having dinner with father. ❜   it hasn’t been that long that he gave in to her pleas and took upon training her ( in secret. uther would simply throw a fit ).   in that short time, he’s realized she is a lady of the court first and foremost, not matter how adventurous of one. she is untrained, used to acting proper, standing a CERTAIN WAY at all times — he cannot blame her; he himself has that training. however, when your life is on the line, things are different and he realizes truly just how unprepared she is to defend herself in the long run.  it is that realization ( and the PARALYZING fear for her life ) that makes him so nitpicky, makes her train like one of his own knights and gives her no leeway. her survival needs the pain.

i hate because i love that he does it and is such an indicator of his good heart but also his respect for his elders / people in power is his personal undoing and i want to fucking die.
