I hate being obsessed with minor mythological figures.

There aren't any Cephalus/Procris fics. There aren't any Rhea Silvia/Tiberinus fics. There aren't any Astraeus/Eos fics. There's only one Perses/Asteria fic and it isn't finished. There's only one Hermes/Penelopeia fic. There aren't any fics about Psamathe the most tragic Nereid. There aren't any Hesione & Priam doomed siblings fics. There aren't any Zephyrus fics unrelated to Hyacinthus.

I just reread a small portion of the odyssey (the scene where odysseus and penelopeia reunite) and damn I fogot how incredibly modern this story feels

So since I saw your post about how Dumuzi affects Aphrodite's future and current relationships... will Enkimdu from "innana Prefers The Farmer" ever come up? And related to other divine relationships, can you say whether Penelopeia is also Penelope from the Odyssey (if it's not a spoiler)?

In don’t think I’ll get too far into the Sumerian side of things. I think it’s safe to say that Aphrodite took many lovers, not just Dumuzi. But Dumuzi is the only one she fell in love with.

As far as Penelopeia vs Penelope, nope, they are two different mythological characters. Penelope of course being the wife of Odysseus, and Penelopeia was an Epimelid nymph in southern Greece who was the mother of Pan by Hermes.
