Never, in a million years did Penelope actually expect to be somewhere in life. She might’ve not done well in school nor known who she wanted to be when she grew up, but she was pretty content now as a well-known activist. It wasn’t a hard job, a few gigs here and there, keeping up on social media, going to Pride. It wasn’t much of a job, but it made her happy and she was getting paid at the least. It was nice to not have to resort to working in offices, running around all stressed, or doing hard labour. Not that there was any issue with that, it was just nice to have a boyfriend, a job, income and not a lot of stress. Brayden was her rock, and she was happy to have him. They might’ve had their differences, considering Penelope was like a firecracker, but that’s because she was never taught how to behave herself. But, she was loyal because she loved him. Penelope rarely said it, because she never had fully experienced it herself; she felt things that had been like love, but had she ever meant those three words? Not until he came along. It made it even better considering they’ve been together quite some time, and it was almost bittersweet.
“Hi baby,” Penelope greeted Brayden warmly, jumping up from the couch in her oversize pajama shirt. Her lips gently met with his, a grin forming on her lips. Her eyes gazed into his, dreamily after pulling away. It was hard to get her eyes off her King, he was handsome, and she was happier now that he was home. How did she deserve him?
So far, it had been a relaxing day. No complaints. She had been preoccupied with the doing some work, taking some phone calls, but chilled with a movie or two in the background. It seemed simple enough. “How was your day?”
