Klaus Hargreeves @ Penguicon 2019
I’ve been posting a string of today’s cosplay photos to Instagram and therefore to my cosplay blog @andsewingishalfthebattle. I was going to share them here since I know I have a few followers who also like TUA, but I didn’t want to spam everyone with a billion reblogs, so here’s the whole collection in a single post.
I’m a cosplay guest at this con and nobody else I know is attending, so all of these are selfies except the keg photo, which the guy at the bar took for me. (What’s funny is that I don’t even drink, so it took me a second to recognize what the kegs were. Then I asked if I could pose with the empties.)
Overall, I’m pretty happy with the costume. The wig isn’t perfect, but it’s convincing enough (a bald attendee told me he’d considered cosplaying Klaus, but he didn’t have enough hair. He was surprised when I pointed out that I have the opposite problem, since my hair is three feet long.) Still not crazy about the PVC pants and will probably replace them with leather ones eventually. Tattoos came out okay, had to reglue facial hair after every panel since it works loose while I’m speaking (why has nobody invented elasticized beard lace yet??), and makeup design worked well, so I’ll probably take this one to ACEN and then Geysercon, since it’s easy and packs so small. Luggage space is at a premium on the international flight.
