Une jeune Sikh initiée (sikhs amritdaris) : elle suit la règle des « 5 K » : avoir les cheveux longs (Kesh); porter en permanence un peigne dans les cheveux (Kangha), un bracelet en fer symbolisant l'unité (le Kara), un caleçon spécifique (le Kachera) et enfin elle porte un poignard recourbé (le Kirpan).

J'avoue ma faute et je plaide coupable : j'ai volé ce portrait. Cette avocate, devant la Haute Cour de Chandigarh (dessiné par Le Corbusier), est prise en photo à son insu, mais m'aurait-elle autorisé à le faire ? J'en doute : elle était en pleine discussion, devant un bâtiment officiel d’accès restreint. Bref, je trouvais dommage de ne pas montrer cette femme travaillant pour la justice, dans son élégant salwar kameez blanc avec une veste noire - une combinaison rare en Inde. J’espère qu'elle me pardonne.
