Swatchbook 8/51
Monarca Stationery's limited edition ink to commemorate the opening of Octante's store in Mexico City. The ink itself doesn't have a name, but I call it ¡Ya llegamos! because that's the phrase they used throughout the weeks leading to the grand opening. The butterfly is to reference the monarch butterfly, which Monarca took the brand name from.
It is a beautiful, burnt orange ink that shades from a light orange to a deep red, with a slight copper/black sheen where it pools. When watercolored, it displays just the slightest hint of pink where it is less saturated.
It was distributed in small, 1,5 ml vials for the first 50 clients or so that purchased something from the store, and that was the total amount of this ink made, apparently, so when it runs out, it runs out. I don't know if there's any other inks which are similar, but there must be some, right?
