"21 settembre 1979 New York Alla fine del concerto dei Clash tenutosi al Palladium di New York, il bassista, Paul Simonon, spaccò il proprio strumento sul palco perché deluso dalla performance del gruppo quella sera. La fotografa al seguito dei Clash, Pennie Smith, accortasi dello stato d'animo di Simonon tenne stretta davanti agli occhi la sua macchina fotografica scattando quella che da molti è considerata la più grande foto rock della storia.In seguito questa foto fu scelta dai Clash come copertina del loro terzo album "London Calling" per la carica e la grinta dello scatto, nonostante l'iniziale opposizione di Pennie Smith per via della cattiva messa a fuoco." . . #theclash #penniesmith (presso NewYork.
