Peperomia Rosso in flower. It is a cultivar of (Peperomia caperata), the emerald ripple peperomia, and comes originally from Brazil. It is a mound-forming evergreen perennial growing to 20 cm (8 in) tall and wide, with corrugated lance-shaped leaves, and narrow spikes of cream flowers 5–8 cm (2–3 in) long, in summer. This one is doing really well as a shade/indoor plant and really does not like too much sun. Peperomia Rosso is a cultivar of (Peperomia Caperata) It is estimated that there are at least over 1,000 species, of peperomia, occurring in all tropical and subtropical regions of the world, though concentrated in Central America and northern South America. Rosso is a “sport” of the Emerald Ripple peperomia Peperomia caperata, which is native to Brazil, but has longer more slender leaves. This is another new purchase from Bunnings and seems to be doing well. I absolutely love this Peperomia ‘Rosso’. I’m not typically a fan of Peperomias, but this one is such a qt, I couldn’t say no when I bought it at @jordansjungleri last year accompanied by my dear friends @jamiejhagen and @magmidd. I repotted it over our recently departed summer in a 5” plastic pot. The gorgeous ceramic planter it now sits in was a gift from Jamie. Thanks, hunny! 🤗 It loves partial sun from my south facing window, and high humidity from the close proximity to my dozens of other houseplants.
