(to clarify cuz ive had ppl ask me if i drew it, the fuyutsuki itself is from this eva op parody ...evidently i overestimated how known this video was i thought a lot more ppl were familiar with it otherwise i wouldve linked it back then! but yes, i can’t take any credit for the magic man himself...please watch this)
but, ‘peppermints anyone?’ is because when i was little i choked on a peppermint twice and both times were really dramatic and so now i just immediately associate peppermints as like this shady dangerous negative object. that fuyutsuki looks like so wildly innocent in that picture but is offering this Tool of Pain that has caused me So Much Toil made sense in some sort of humourous dissonance but i have no idea why i paired the two because obviously no one else is gonna get that...ok..you know im realizing a pattern here with this and banana pudding prince justin and the others. the posts that i think aren’t even funny at all are just random junk i thought about and was gonna delete like 5 mins later just lift off .... what is up with that
anyways, i used to make up stuff about gendo and fuyutsuki being friends and the Tomfoolery that would ensue in nerv because of it and i always envisioned that fuyutsuki, in his ways, would try connecting with the kids through lozenge treats and they always turn him down. so he brews this deep-seated need for someone to finally Accept it, like that is the one thing he craves is acceptance by his coworkers through this act of a friendly casual gift that is without fail ignored every time. let me tell you fuyutsuki is the real mvp of evangelion and all his passive aggression is slowly crammed into this frickin mint, as he climbs the stairs of the eva unit launchpad calling out to shinji ‘child! you forgot some peppermints before you go!’ his old man hand shaking with this dinnerplate of spiraled confectionaries. im sorry but i needed to weave this story for you so you could fully grasp the context of this Meme, because it is rich in lore
