tamagotchi smart can have sprites replaced using a smart card and ch341a mini programmer
lots to choose from, but i really want the
Tamagotchi On
Tamagotchi Pix
Original Tamagotchi
Tamagotchi Connection
and maybe Tamagotchi Uni but idk
here is a google document compiling resources i find as i go, sorted into categories
from my research, it looks like two things will be true,
even if i knew how to do advanced programming, software creation, and reverse engineering, i would not be able to add custom sprites or backgrounds in the original tamagotchi and tamagotchi connection devices
therefore, the only customization on the old models i can do is taking them apart to paint or customize the outer shell.
i could still toy around with basic modding, which is possible, but the items are expensive and complex for a beginner to use. maybe later down the line
using this side blog to journal and document my tamagotchi journey. primarily for myself as a hobby.
my current goals are:
create a custom tamagotchi pet, items, and backgrounds on a tamagotchi uni or tamagotchi go (possibly with MyMeets)
create a custom shell for a tamagotchi connection (painting or 3D printing) or custom faceplate (printing) for a tamagotchi go / uni / pix / 4U
learn to possibly add backlighting or do other modifications to tamagotchi devices
do other silly things in the community
collect tamagotchis over time
as of right now i do not have anything to share but posts will be random. not necessarily looking to create a following, i mainly wanna post to the void to hold myself accountable to these projects
