I’ve been working on healing a lot of things lately. For decades, I was a people-pleaser. We women are taught to trade our instincts for what society wants of us. A decade-long career in retail and customer service didn’t help, either. However, recently, I decided to flip the people-pleaser inside of me. Now, I tune into my own thoughts and feelings, and please myself over others. I act more in accord with what I want. It’s better this way. I still have a long way to go, but I know I’m on the right path because it hurts, but it’s also good because I’m growing. ✨
